Course DescriptionOver the past decades transport problems have become more varied, and widespread in both developed and developing countries. Problems of congestion, delays, increases in air pollution, fuel consumption and accidents have well exceeded previous predictions.
Today's transport planners have to be confident, and assertive with the ability to work as a team player, delegate, explain and promote ideas and projects. A degree in Transport Management will provide you with a stimulating and rewarding career, with the opportunity to engage in issues that will shape our nation in years to come, allowing the graduate to make a real contribution towards a sustainable future.
The courses have been designed to convey the knowledge that is necessary to work as a professional in the transport sector of the economy. An Honours Project in stage 4 provides an opportunity to research an aspect of Transport that is of particular interest.

Entry QualificationsEntry Higher National Diploma (HND) or equivalent, in a recognised discipline e.g. Engineering, Computing, Business, etc.
The course is currently only available for direct entry to Stages 3 and 4. Applicants with a Higher National Diploma (HND) or equivalent, in a recognized discipline, may be considered for entry, e.g. Engineering, Computing, Business, etc.
Each application will be considered on merit and the Admissions Tutor and Programme
Director may call applicants for interview. Students admitted to the course will have the opportunity to obtain an ordinary degree after one year or an Honours degree after two years.

This course is taught by the School of the Built Environment, which is based at Merchiston campus
Professional AccreditedThe Institute of Logistics and Transportation accredit the course. After suitable training graduates may gain Chartered status within the Profession.
